Syllabus
The Deluxe Paintball Academy will introduce students to rudimentary paintball theory and safety concepts. As a physical education class it will stress athleticism aspects of the sport with mandatory stretching and warm-up exercises followed by sport specific physical conditioning drills.
The Deluxe Paintball Academy is broken down into 3 levels of difficulty based on the Capital Edge Paintball League classifications. These classifications or levels are as follows; Young Guns, Beginner and Rookie as described on the CEPL webpage. [www.thecepl.com] Those players wishing to participate in the Division 4 raceto2 series of the CEPL may do so by invitation only.
Young Gun - If you were born on May 1, 1994 or later, then you are young enough to participate in the CEPL Young Guns Division in 2009 (If you were born in April 1995 or earlier, you are too old to play in the Young Guns Division in 2010). Proof of age is required for participation in the Young Guns division. Also, participants cannot have played in (this season or in prior years) any tournaments other than Young Gun events.
Beginner - A beginner is classified as anyone playing in their first tournament season. That means, your first tournament could not have been more than a year prior to the event you are registering to compete in. The Beginner's Division is for those of you who are interested in playing a tournament, but haven't had the opportunity until now. Practice makes perfect, but there is nothing like the experience you gain from an actual competition. Beginners may not have participated in any 7 Man Events, and a maximum of two local 5-Man Events. You MAY NOT have participated in the WCPPL(or similar type series), or any other National Level Tournament Series, Nor may a player have participated in any division higher than Beginner in the current or previous seasons. If your year limit should expire before the season is over, and you have already competed in at least ONE CEPL event, you will be allowed to finish off the season as a beginner. This exception is only in place, as long as you do not play any national level, or other major tournament series at any time during the current season. Beginners must move up to the Rookie division for the next season.
Rookie 5man- A Rookie is classified as anyone who is Division 5 or more (ex. div 6, div 7, etc.). Individuals who participated in more than two XPSL Rookie events in 2008 DO NOT QUALIFY as a Rookie in the CEPL, Nor may any player have participated in more than one event as a division 4 player in the current season. (example: A player may play one WCPPL event as division 4 and still be classified as a rookie in the CEPL. When that player participates in their second event in division 4, she/he no longer qualifies as a rookie in the CEPL.)
Rookie raceto2- A Rookie is classified as anyone who is Division 4 or more (ex. div 6, div 7, etc.). Individuals who participated in more than two WCPPL Intermediate events in 2009 DO NOT QUALIFY as a Rookie in the CEPL, Nor may any player have participated in more than one event as a division 4 player in the current season. (example: A player may play one WCPPL event as division 4 and still be classified as a rookie in the CEPL. When that player participates in their second event in division 4, she/he no longer qualifies as a rookie in the CEPL.)
